Abstract

A theoretical justification is given for the compensation wattmeter method of measuring the losses along sections of a complex magnetic circuit. The measurement principle is based on compensation for measured losses. It is advisable to apply in those cases when the surface of the investigated area can be tightly covered with two measuring windings and a magnetic potentiometer so that the axis of magnetization of the area coincides with the axis of the measuring windings. A schematic diagram, as well as experimental data for measuring losses in areas of a sample in an uneven field, and results of measured losses in the model of the pressure plate of the outermost package of the magnetic circuit are presented.
